Cousins’ new company motivated by decades of experience in the fire service

TWO Letterkenny men with over three decades of firefighting experience between them have set up Eversafe, a safety training company committed to making their local community safer.

Co-founders and cousins Michael Purtill and Eddy Moore are both retained firefighters in Letterkenny Fire Station. Eddy is the Station Officer and Michael is the Sub-Station Officer.

They offer a diverse range of training courses designed to equip individuals and organisations with the knowledge and skills necessary to prioritise safety and respond effectively in various situations. This includes working at height training, manual handling and fire warden training.

But what makes Eversafe stand out from their competitors is they are a firefighter-led company with a wealth of real-world expertise to every aspect of safety training, planning, and consulting.

Speaking to the Donegal News CEO Michael Purtill explained why their first-hand experience with the fire service is vital to their offering.

“We see the aftermath of accidents and stuff that goes wrong, so there is no better two men who can go out and talk about why it is important to have these courses and why it is important to talk about fire safety,” he said.

With over thirty years of experience in the fire service, keeping their community safe has become more than a job, it is ingrained in their ethos. That drive is what inspired Michael and Eddy to take this leap into starting their new business.

“Earlier this year we finally decided to stop talking about it and make it happen,” Michael added.

As well as offering safety training and risk assessments, Eversafe also offers interview preparation for people wishing to join the fire service.

Their website which launched earlier this week is available online at eversafe.ie for more information.
